Don Paolo 2010: Sorrentino

This is a red wine made from Aglianico grape from the the Mount Vesuvio foothills. The producer is Sorrentino that we visited in the summer of 2020. The wine is 12 years of age. The color is still dark ruby with the rim not true to the core ( 12 years in the bottle ) with a medium high viscosity (14% abv). The nose is still young with strong black fruits aroma but tertiary notes of tobacco and licorice helped in its complexity. The palate is full with medium and well balanced acidity warm and velvety tannins and a finally a medium persistence. The pairing is with any meat source or any meat dishe, we did it with braciole and pizza. PM: 89.
