Castello di Meleto , 2017 Chianti Classico Riserva Borgaio

This is a Chianti Classico Riserva. It’s among the most known and traditional wines in Italy. Its made of course from Sangiovese grape. It shows a light ruby color ( almost traslucent ) with a medium viscosity (13.5% abv). The nose is surprisingly superb with notes of black cherry, red currant and pencil. The wine shows some complexity with a new surprise at evey swirl and sniff. The palate confirms the nose with a perfectly balanced acidity velvety tannins and a medium body. The wine surprises you at every sip. In summary a very good Chianti where the acidity ( common to the Chianti wines ) is harmoniously integrated in a very enjoyable wine. It can be paired with any Italian pasta in red sauce dish and any meat dish or even with Pizza made with Parma ham smoked mozzarella , arugula and pieces of parmigian cheese ( as we did). PM 92.
